Grab a US Quarter

While other coins work, a quarter is the most accurate.

Take a Photo of Each Hand

• ✦Place your hand flat on a table or level surface.
• ✦Lay the quarter next to your index finger. Make sure the quarter isn't touching the finger.
• ✦Take a straight, top-down photo of your entire hand.
• ✦Repeat this process for your other hand.

Tip: Make sure the coin and all four fingernails are clearly visible and in focus.

Don't Forget Your Thumbs

Thumbs sit at a different angle, so they each need their own photo.

• ✦Place your thumb flat on the table (use a "crab claw" grip on a table or counter).
• ✦Place the quarter directly next to your thumb.
• ✦Take a straight, top-down photo.
• ✦Repeat for the other thumb.
